Work in Progress: Luxury Contemporary Home in Kangaroo Valley
Nestled in the rolling hills of Kangaroo Valley in the NSW Southern Highlands, this luxury contemporary home is currently in the design and construction phase, set to be a striking yet harmonious addition to its breath taking natural surroundings.
The design has been meticulously crafted to utilise the sloping site, ensuring the home flows seamlessly with the natural topography rather than imposing upon it. The layout follows the land’s contours, creating tiered levels that enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal. This approach allows for maximised views, natural light penetration, and a seamless indoor-outdoor connection.
The architectural palette is rich in natural textures, featuring timber cladding, stack stone, standing seam steel cladding, and natural stone paving—materials chosen to blend effortlessly with the rural landscape while offering durability and timeless elegance.
At the heart of the design is the expansive outdoor entertaining area, strategically positioned to take advantage of the sloping terrain. A beautiful pool sits on a lower level, framed by stone paving and timber decking, offering a tranquil retreat with uninterrupted valley views. The multi-level outdoor spaces flow naturally, creating zones for relaxation, social gatherings, and quiet contemplation.
A triple garage, seamlessly integrated into the design, follows the site’s gradient to reduce visual bulk while maintaining accessibility. Its blond brick work not only provides a sleek, modern edge but also ensures durability against the region’s changing climate.
Inside, the home features open-plan living areas with soaring ceilings and full-height glazing, allowing natural light to flood the space while framing the scenic backdrop.
